One of us has skin that flares at everything - heat, stress, the wrong product, a hard workout. The market's answer was either harsh calming toners that stung, or pretty mists that did nothing at all.
We kept reading about hypochlorous acid: gentle, clinically familiar, used for years to soothe skin. The problem was that many face mists were vague about concentration, pH, and freshness.
Instead of handing a brief to a co-packer, we built a small lab. That let us obsess over the details that matter: stabilizing at 0.02% (200 ppm), balancing to skin's own pH 5.5, and filling fresh in small batches.
It also meant radical transparency. Three ingredients - water, sodium chloride, and hypochlorous acid - all disclosed, nothing hidden behind a proprietary blend.
